Bad Milk Hosts Second Edition of ForevHER Friday!

Female rapper and songwriter Bad Milk recently hosted the second edition of ForevHER Friday, a show and concept she developed to uplift fellow female artists and provide them with the recognition they deserve, particularly in the hip-hop space. Lunathi Drops had the opportunity to chat with her about the origins and goals of this initiative.

The Origins of ForevHER Friday

Lunathi Drops: As an artist yourself, what made you venture into doing your own shows and how did you come up with the name of the show?

Bad Milk: “Honestly, I was tired of being the only girl in studio sessions, on line-ups, shoots, and so forth. It just became draining, and I felt that we needed more united feminine energy in the industry because it’s not something that's really encouraged. I saw the opportunity and just went for it. As for the name of the show, I don't really remember how it came about, but I wanted to stick to the FF theme of Future Female.”

An All-Female Lineup

Lunathi Drops: Why was it important for you to make it an all-female lineup?

Bad Milk: “Because these ladies deserve a platform to call their own, and it’s pretty exciting to do because it’s something that’s fresh in the streets.”

Challenges Faced

Lunathi Drops: With this being the 2nd edition, what are some of the challenges you faced when putting it all together?

Bad Milk: “For some odd reason, my sound likes to trip, lol. Other than that, just the general challenges of dealing with a lot of different people all at the same time.”

Partnerships and Future Aspirations

Lunathi Drops: Did you have any help or sponsors in making sure the show is a success? And which brands would you like to have on board in your future shows?

Bad Milk: “Yes, this time around we were blessed to partner with Amarula Gin, Converse, Bipxlar, H20, and Tiipsy. In future shows, we hope to work with Era By DJ Zinhle and Hennessy, just to name two.”

Conclusion

ForevHER Friday is quickly becoming a significant platform for female artists to shine, thanks to Bad Milk's vision and dedication. With its unique all-female lineup, the show not only highlights the talent within the hip-hop community but also fosters a sense of unity and support among female artists. We look forward to seeing how this initiative grows and continues to empower women in the industry.
