The story of The Name On The Drum could boil down to us as brothers, Ben and Nat Bruzas. It's a way we maintain our relationship, process our lives and the world around us. Creating music and performing has put food on our tables, been an emotional refuge, taken us places we didn't expect and kept working together.
Our music contains two very different styles that seem to complement each other while adding variety and dynamics.
Our philosophy around what we create is very much, if it makes you feel something keep it. And the occasional tongue and cheek approach can break the ice on some dry, well chewed subject matter.
The Name On The Drum has played around South Africa, including touring Guateng and the Eastern Cape, recently taking part in Darling Brew's "just make music" competition saw them taking to the stage in Darling, CPT at their winter fest, alongside acts such as Die Hewels Fantasties and Karen Zoid.
The Name On The Drum as also featured at several music festivals including Splashy Fen.
Their second studio EP "For These Times" which releases 4 years after their first "Souvenirs". Aims to give listeners a challenging yet cathartic experience. With a solid two piece live act bolstered by multi-instrumentalism gives a large, absorbing sound with honest thought provoking writing.
