Siphosomusa Mdaka aka Somusiciz

Somusiciz (SO-MUSIC-IZ) is a versatile concept producer/audio engineer based in Pretoria Gauteng originally from Ermelo in the province of Mpumalanga. One of the many reasons he describes himself as versatile is because he dabbles with different genres in his music like Soulful Music, Hip Hop, Trap Soul/R&B, Lounge, House Music and so much. He also works with other artists in their projects as a beatmaker, audio engineer (from recording all the way to mastering their music).

Somusiciz has been making music from the year 2007 when he first got introduced to FL Studio. He then decided to study for his career path, to be well informed about his passion for music he enrolled for a Diploma at Emendy Multimedia Technology Institute, where he graduated (in 2016) as an audio engineer. Through the received education he realized that there is more to music than just being a beatmaker, so he embarked on a journey to improve his skills as a recording, mixing & mastering engineer by working with different artists in numerous projects apart from his own. He has worked with artists like Keys on his Project called “Winter Playlist” (Hip Hop), Anthology on his Project called “Novelism” (Hip Hop), Noxy on a couple of his singles (Rhythm & Blues) and many more. He has also remixed a couple of tracks for artists like Marcus Mail (Blood of Africa Remix) & the very talented singer Moneek (Call Me Crazy Remix).

Somusiciz finds excitement in trying new things when it comes to music, releasing different genres of music under his brand like House, R&B, Soulful Music and Alternative. His music can be found on all Major Streaming Platforms, including SoundCloud & YouTube. His first official release dates back to 2010 with an Alternative instrumental called “For You” which he describes as music having a personal conversation with the listener depicted by the lead instrument of the song. He then followed with another instrumental release called “Looking” where he featured a saxophonist by the name of Thabo Motloung. Just from the two above-mentioned releases, you would realize that Somusiciz strongly believes in music being another form of expression, and always works towards releasing material and content that listeners can relate to. This is evident in his projects like “Conversations with God”, “Only Fools Rush In” and “Love Me Beneath My Space”.
